EternAloy® HNT High-Performance Cutting Tools
EternAloy® HNT materials bring together two things that are essential in the machine tool industry, extreme hardness and toughness. When uniquely combined using EternAloys patented TCHP process, toughness properties equal to sub-micron carbide are not sacrificed while hardness greater than conventional carbide and equal to ceramic is achieved. The result is a cutting tool that is robust enough to handle everyday operation yet with hardness that provides significantly extended tool life and higher material removal rates, depending on the application, over conventional carbide tools. The advanced TCHP technology embedded in the EternAloy® HNT product line means higher material removal rates or increased tool life, depending on the end user’s primary goals.
EternAloy® HNT CarbideMax Tipped Turning Inserts
HNT CarbideMax tipped turning inserts provide high value through exceptional durability that results in improved metal removal rates and tool life. The inserts consist of HNT material containing superhard particles embedded in a carbide matrix. The HNT tips have been brazed onto a carbide base and the desired geometry has been created via precision grinding to exact specifications.
The performance benefits of this tool design over common carbide turning inserts are driven by the increased hardness, as well as toughness that is not available from common carbide or PCD inserts. Available now in a selected range of common shapes and sizes, this portfolio of high-performance cutting tools will continue to expand as the EternAloy® brand penetrates the global cutting tool market.
EternAloy® HNT CarbideMax Tipped Turning Insert Blanks
HNT CarbideMax tipped turning insert blanks allow tool manufacturers to create their own desired custom geometries for specific high-value applications. The blanks offer all of the inherent performance benefits of HNT material, available only from EternAloy, and the flexibility needed to meet a wide range of customer needs. HNT CarbideMax single point tool blanks can be used by tooling manufacturers to produce any desired single point tool geometry. The HNT CarbideMax material has been brazed on to solid carbide blank body, in a range of common sizes to meet any application’s needs.
